We present here the awards, distinctions, repercussions, and transcendence achieved by the new technologies of PCSA

28th International Exhibition of Inventions, New Techniques and Products of Geneva, Switzerland (April 2000)

Gold Medal

Sponsored by: Swiss Federal Government, Government of the State of Geneva, and Government of the City of Geneva.

With the participation of the directors of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

With the dissemination, support and participation of representatives of: Inventors Associations; Intellectual Property Associations; Creative Associations; National and Federal Institutes and Agencies of Intellectual and Industrial Property; and Ministries of Science and Technology, from 23 countries on five continents.

The exhibition is considered the largest global event in the innovation sector, since, among other reasons:

  • It has a tradition and prestige earned by 27 exhibitions (annual) held previously;
  • It was developed in an area of 8500 m2 of covered surface;
  • An international jury, made up of 60 renowned specialists, had the difficult task of evaluating the merit of the inventions and judging which should receive a Prize and Award: Gold Medal for the best inventions shown, and Silver and Bronze Medals for those that met with the qualities required by it;
  • 1000 inventions of different specialties (22 Classes) presented by 686 exhibitors from 44 countries on five continents were exhibited;
  • With strong support in its dissemination, carried out by Organisms, Associations, and National and Federal Institutes of the Inventions Sector of 23 countries on five continents;
  • With significant media coverage: press, radio and television, from different countries on five continents; and
  • It is visited by approximately 65,000 visitors from five continents.

Distinguished Repercussions of the New PCSA Technologies
"To the best of my knowledge, after consulting with manufacturers and users of Optical Fibers, the procedure is a valuable and pioneering idea, which broadens the range of applications of optical communications in electrical power transmission systems."
Ing. Ralph McGonegal Jr., Director of International Information Technology, CMS Energy. (June-1997)

"From the functional point of view, this type of installation does not have any problem. In fact, a highly protected and highly durable 'self-supporting' cable would result. From a mechanical point of view, it is clear that the structure of the line will suffer less with the referenced installation."

Ing. Juan Zahera, Cable Engineering Manager Pirelli S.A. (Spain). (June-1997)

"It opens new horizons and the possibility of its application."
Ing. Valentino Kunica, President of the Professional Council of Telecommunications, Electronics and Computing Engineering of Argentina (COPITEC). (June-2000)

"The award given to Ing. Rubén C. Castaño for his invention once again highlights the capacity of our professionals worldwide. In this particular case, both Ing. R. C. Castaño and a large part of his collaborators are an active part of the transnational IEEE community from which they have been nourished by knowledge and to which they have in turn provided their own, in a process of exchange accessible at a global level. It is to be desired that the contribution of Eng. in a benefit for the country and in encouragement for new generations of professionals."

Ing. Jorge Hedderwick and Ing. Raúl Sabio, President and Secretary of IEEE Argentina respectively, local branch of “The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers”. (June-2000)

"In my opinion the new technology developed by Engineer Rubén Castaño has great potential and its applications will improve the quality of life all over the world. I am proud that members of our Association, representing our country in the International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva, have won the first Gold Medal awarded to Latin American exhibitors in the Class "C" (Electronics, Electricity, Computer Sciences, Radio, Television, Video and Telecommunications)."
